Light to Color

As commented on in yesterday's post, light is very important for capturing beautiful pictures.  Additionally, light effects the power of contrast, as exemplified by yesterday's photos, but it also empowers colors.  Though these two images might not be perfect, they accurately represent how color can be used to strengthen a photograph.  Many of the shades of color in these photos fall within the same area of the gray scale, which show little differentiation when in black and white.  As a result, both images are far less interesting to look at unless in color.
