Hunting for Insects
On the evenings we stay in our room, I spend the half an hour before sunset watching the cattle egrets bob back and forth along the tops of the bushes hunting for insects. They are such odd creatures, seeming to devote their greatest attentions to the task at hand but doing it so methodically that their slowness actually inhibits them from catching much. I love the light at this time of day and it acted to illuminate these odd birds. Below are a series of photographs that explore the effects of the angle of the camera in relation to the light source has on the image.
