Larnach Castle

Castles do exist in places other than Europe.  They exist in New Zealand, a European colony.  Haha.  Larnach Castle is a nice little tourist attraction with lovely gardens in Dunedin but it’s not what I think of when I think of castles.  We had more fun looking at insects and tempting ducks with grass than enjoying the architecture.  Does it still count that I’ve been to a castle?

Penguins do exist in places other than Antarctica.  New Zealand has a few different species, one of them being the yellow-eyed penguin.  It is the most anti-social of all penguins and is a monitored endangered species.  We ventured onto a tour group to go see the monitoring programs going on out on the Otago Peninsula.
